Ingredients
- 500 g flour
- 250g butter
- One teaspoon of baking powder
- Four table spoons of milk
- 1/4 cup of water
- One egg for coating.
- Two medium size of carrot.
- One large Irish potato
- 350g of minced meat
- One green bell pepper
- One teaspoon of grounded pepper, for some hotness.
- One seasoning cube
- One table spoon of stock powder.
- One small spring onion.
- Half cooking spoon of oil
- Two spoons of flour.
Preparation Steps

- Pour the flour in a bowl, add the butter and baking powder then mix till you get a consistency like garri.
- Make a well in the flour, mix the milk with water, then pour.
- Mix together, place on a working table and knead gently. Be careful not to over work the dough.
- Cover and leave to rest for about twenty minutes.
- Dice your Irish potato, bell pepper and carrot then set aside.
- Heat thr oil in a sauce pan, add sliced spring onion then saute.
- Add the minced meat and stir till it looses it’s pinkish color.
- Add the Irish potato and carrot and stir.
- Pour the water, then add the stock cube and stock powder.
- Allow to cook for about three minutes
- Mix the two spoons of flour and pour. This helps to bind it together.
- Stir and put off the heat.
- Put the dough on a working surface.
- Cut out a small portion, spread out with a rolling pin.
- Cut out a circular shape: you can use a cutter or even the cover of any thing that has round shape.
- Scoop about one and half spoon of the filling at into the cut out dough, cover and press down with a fork.
- Whisk the egg and coat the dough with the egg using a baking brush.
- Put on a baking tray and bake for about thirty five to forty minutes and the meat pie is ready.
